The multi-shop problem in Pakistan
Most second shops start the same way: your trusted worker runs the new counter while you bounce between both. Within months there are two notebooks, "adjustments" you cannot verify, udhaar given without record, and month-end totals that do not match the cash box. The problem is not trust — it is the absence of a shared system that makes honesty effortless.
A practical StoreSaathi setup for chains of 2–5 shops
1. One activation per branch, one phone per counter
Install the app on each branch's shop phone. Each branch keeps its own products, stock levels and customer khata — because stock genuinely differs between branches, mixing them creates confusion nobody needs.
2. Standardize product names across branches
Before rollout, agree one naming pattern (see how to name products) and import it everywhere with bulk entry. When names match, comparing "what sells where" later takes minutes instead of hours.
3. Make every branch close its day digitally
Use the same closing routine at every counter: sales recorded, dues updated, cash counted against the day's report. As owner, review each branch's report from your own phone via reports and backups.
4. Keep transfers formal
Stock moving between branches should be recorded as a purchase by the receiving branch and a sale/return by the sending one. It feels bureaucratic for one transfer; it saves you from silent shrinkage forever.
What owners gain in the first month
- Daily visibility into each branch's sales without driving there.
- Customer udhaar that workers cannot quietly forget.
- Fair comparison between branches — real numbers, not impressions.
- Salary disputes reduced: attendance-linked salary records per branch.
